Active Directory

The Active Directory integration synchronizes computer assets and groups from your Active Directory (AD) environment into AIR over LDAP. Synchronized assets appear on the Assets page, where you can filter them by domain and Organizational Unit (OU).

Active Directory asset sync is configured per organization. Each organization has its own connection settings, its own synchronized assets and groups, and its own last sync time.

Navigate to Integrations > Active Directory. The settings apply to the currently selected organization.

FieldDescription
EnableTurns Active Directory asset sync on or off for the organization.
Secure ConnectionConnects to the AD server over a secure (encrypted) LDAP connection.
ServerThe address of the AD server, for example 10.0.0.1.
DomainThe AD domain to synchronize, for example company.local.
UsernameThe AD account used to read directory information.
PasswordThe password for the AD account.
QueryThe LDAP filter used to select objects to synchronize, for example (&(objectCategory=computer)) to sync only computer objects.
OUThe Organizational Unit to synchronize from.

After filling in the fields, click Verify and Save. AIR verifies the connection to the AD server with the supplied settings and credentials, then saves the configuration for the organization.

Click Sync LDAP to start a synchronization manually. AIR queries Active Directory using the configured query and OU and imports the matching assets and groups into the organization.

The last sync time shows when the most recent synchronization for the organization took place.

Turning off LDAP / Active Directory login under Settings > Security does not affect this integration and does not delete synchronized assets.

Active Directory asset sync was previously configured under Settings > Assets. If you had an Active Directory configuration there, a dismissible migration banner at that location points you to Integrations > Active Directory.
